Spyware and Slow Computer – Signs You May Have Spyware on Your Computer

Spyware and a slow computer usually run hand and hand; in fact, that is usually one of the first signs that your computer has been infected by some type of spyware. There are some types of spyware that are quite easy to detect, but there are some others that can be difficult to detect. It is important that you take the time to check your computer on a regular basis for spyware, but even if you do that, you should still be aware of the general signs that your computer could have been infected with some type of spyware.

Sign #1 – Your Computer is Running Slowly – Of course as was mentioned, spyware and a slow computer definitely go together and usually one of the biggest signs that you may see if spyware has affected your computer is your computer running slower than usual. While there are many other things that can cause your computer to run slowly, spyware and a slow computer often go hand and hand, so if you notice that your computer is running slow, you may want to do a scan for spyware to make sure that is not the problem.

Sign #2 – The Computer Does Strange Things – Another sign that your computer may have been affected by spyware is that the computer begins to do strange things on its’ own. If there is spyware on your computer, it can take control of different processes on the computer and you may notice that programs get started, the internet is brought up, or any number of other strange things occur on your computer when spyware has infected it.

Sign #3 – Email is Being Bounced Back a Lot – In some cases there may be some emails signs as well. You may notice that some of your emails are getting bounced back to you quite frequently or you may even notice that some emails have been sent without you knowing about them. Spyware can take over your email and be used by other people to spam people, so keep track of your email.

Sign #4 – Strange Noises are Occurring – There are a variety of noises that can occur as well if your computer has been infected with spyware. You may hear different bells, you may see different lights come up, or you may even notice that your CD drive opens up for no reason. These noises may be a sign that you have spyware on your computer as well.

There are many different signs that spyware may have affected your computer that you should be aware of. Of course the most common signs are spyware and slow computers. Keep these signs in mind, and if you notice any of them occurring, be sure to run a spyware program to find and get rid of the spyware on your computer.
